TEHRAN (Dunya News) - Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that Iran has no intention of acquiring nuclear weapons and is prepared to provide assurances to the international community in this regard.
In an official statement, the Iranian president said Tehran’s position remains clear, adding that the country is willing to cooperate at the international level to build confidence over its commitment to not pursuing nuclear arms.
He further emphasised that Iran’s negotiating team would not compromise on national interests, dignity, or sovereignty under any circumstances.
He stressed that the country’s fundamental principles would remain a priority throughout ongoing negotiations.

President Pezeshkian added that Iran seeks to advance the diplomatic process while safeguarding its sovereignty and protecting its national interests, signalling Tehran’s intent to remain engaged in dialogue without yielding on core positions.
Meanwhile, a senior Iranian source told Reuters on Sunday that Tehran has not agreed to hand over its highly enriched uranium stockpile.
The source said Iran's nuclear issue was not part of the preliminary agreement with the United States.
"The nuclear issue will be addressed in negotiations for a final agreement and are therefore not part of the current deal. There has been no agreement over Iran's highly enriched uranium stockpile to be shipped out of the country," said the source.
