Summary In a statement, Araghchi said the only path to ending the conflict was through fair and dignified negotiations
TEHRAN (Dunya News) - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said the Strait of Hormuz could be reopened within a week if the United States accepts Iran’s conditions and lifts its naval blockade.
In a statement, Araghchi said the only path to ending the conflict was through fair and dignified negotiations, arguing that the United States had failed on both the military and diplomatic fronts.
The Iranian foreign minister also warned that imposing additional sanctions on Iran would not resolve existing disputes and could instead further escalate tensions in the region.
Araghchi cautioned that if Washington once again chose military action, Iran was better prepared than before and capable of confronting any potential aggression.
He said negotiations remained the most effective means of reducing tensions and establishing peace in the region.

However, he added that achieving such an outcome would require the United States to reconsider its policies and demands toward Iran.
Araghchi’s remarks came amid heightened regional tensions and growing concerns over the security of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital international shipping route.
Iran has repeatedly emphasized the importance of diplomacy while warning that military pressure or additional sanctions could further complicate efforts to de-escalate the situation and reach a negotiated settlement.
