LAHORE (Dunya News) - Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has called a meeting of a committee formed to monitor prices of sugar on Wednesday (today), Dunya News reported here on Tuesday.
According to sources, the committee was formed on the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to regulate rates of the commodity.
The sources have revealed that the purpose of the meeting is to review the prices of sugar and make them stable in the market.
A delegation of sugar mills association will participate in the meeting and give its suggestions. The participants of the session will deliberate measures how to ensure availability of sugar in market at reduced rates during Ramazan.
The country has seen reduction in inflation rate, with efforts by the government to make consumers ripe benefits from reduced prices of daily use items, and control hoarders and profiteers from fleecing public.
