ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The government on Wednesday reduced the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD), citing changes in international oil market prices.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been cut by Rs1.93 per litre, while HSD has been reduced by Rs4.21 per litre.
Following the revision, petrol will be sold at Rs390.12 per litre, while the new price of HSD is Rs414.75 per litre.
The revised rates will take effect from September 24, 2026.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot prices under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism.
OGRA has also started publishing daily petroleum prices on its website as part of efforts to improve transparency and enable international price movements to be reflected in domestic fuel prices more quickly.
Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said the daily pricing mechanism is based on a seven-day average of international market prices, in line with international practices.
