ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The federal government on Wednesday increased the price of petrol by Rs1.82 per litre, while reducing the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Re0.91 per litre, citing changes in international oil prices.
Following the latest revision, petrol will be available at Rs396.65 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel has been fixed at Rs394.94 per litre.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the revised prices will take effect from October 8, 2026.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot prices under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism.

The revised prices are linked to movements in global petroleum markets, with the government’s pricing mechanism allowing changes in international oil prices to be reflected in domestic fuel prices.
Meanwhile, OGRA has begun publishing daily petroleum prices on its website as part of measures aimed at improving transparency and enabling changes in international oil prices to be passed on to consumers more quickly.
Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said the daily prices are calculated on the basis of a seven-day average of international market prices, in line with international practice.
