LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Naqvi announced that the reconstruction of Gaddafi Stadium has been completed on time. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will inaugurate the stadium on Feb 7.
Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, Naqvi noted that media personnel visited the stadium more than him, observing the progress daily. The construction officially began in October, with a commitment to complete it by January 31, and the stadium is now fully ready, he held.
“Pakistan is prepared to welcome all teams for the Champions Trophy. Additionally, Karachi’s National Stadium will be inaugurated by President Asif Ali Zardari on Feb 11,” he maintained.
He further revealed that the Champions Trophy opening ceremony would be held in Lahore on Feb 16. The stadium has been enhanced with better view and increased seating capacity, he added.

Naqvi also addressed concerns from across the border, stating that every detail was being closely observed, but nothing negative would be found.
The PCB chairman added that the newly installed seats, imported from China, come with a 20-year warranty.
