Coach Gary Stead said the batter was still not ready to play after injury
(Web Desk) – New Zealand opener Rachin Ravindra has been ruled out of the tri-series final against Pakistan due to head injury.
Black Caps Coach Gary Stead confirmed it as both sides are set to lock horns for title clash at National Stadium, Karachi, today.
Stead said Ravindra had “had a headache for a few days” since suffering a forehead injury when he missed a catch during the series opener against Pakistan at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium last week.
The coach said the batter was still not ready to play in the match, even though he practiced in nets on Thursday night.
“The pleasing thing is that he’s progressing well. We’re following [head injury assessment] protocols at the moment,” Stead told international media.
