Freezing temperature grips Balochistan, fog blankets low-lying areas

The minimum temperature in Quetta was recorded at 0°C, while Kalat experienced even colder conditions.
QUETTA (Dunya News) - Quetta and several other districts of Balochistan continue to experience cold and dry weather, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasting severe cold conditions in the province’s northern areas along with partly cloudy skies.
According to the Met Office, dense fog is likely during morning hours in Dera Bugti, Kohlu, Dera Murad Jamali, Jaffarabad, Nasirabad, Jhal Magsi, Sibi, and surrounding areas, which may significantly reduce visibility and disrupt daily activities.
The minimum temperature in Quetta was recorded at 0°C, while Kalat experienced even colder conditions with temperatures dropping to -2°C. In Ziarat, the minimum temperature also touched 0°C, whereas Zhob recorded 4°C.
Elsewhere in the province, Sibi reported a minimum temperature of 6°C, Turbat recorded 14°C, Nokkundi saw temperatures fall to 9°C, and Chaman experienced a low of 5°C.
Cold weather conditions were also reported in Balochistan’s coastal belt. The minimum temperature in Gwadar was recorded at 13°C, while Jiwani experienced a low of 14°C.
The Meteorological Department advised residents, particularly in colder northern districts, to take necessary precautions against extreme cold, while travelers were urged to remain cautious due to foggy conditions in the plains during early morning hours.
