The PCB stated that it was ICC’s responsibility to ensure the correct anthem was played
DUBAI (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formally requested an explanation from the International Cricket Council (ICC) after the Indian national anthem was mistakenly played before the Australia vs. England match.
According to PCB sources, the ICC was responsible for preparing the Champions Trophy playlist, which included India’s anthem despite India not being part of the tournament matches in Pakistan.
The PCB stated that it was ICC’s responsibility to ensure the correct anthem was played and has asked for a public explanation regarding the incident.
Since the ICC oversees and executes all tournament operations, the PCB insisted that the governing body must clarify this mistake not only to Pakistan but to everyone involved.
It is worth noting that before the match, India’s anthem was mistakenly played for a few seconds instead of Australia’s.
