The suspects upon being signalled to stop opened fire on police
SHEIKHUPURA (Dunya News) – An alleged police encounter in Sheikhupura left one suspect dead, the other was arrested after being injured within the jurisdiction of A-division PS.
DPO Sheikhupua Zahid Nawaz said, a suspected car was signalled to stop when the suspects started firing on the Dolphin police. The police surrounded the whole area and encircled the car. The suspects meanwhile opened heavy fire on police party. The suspects also tried to escape by snatching a citizen’s car, however, due to over speeding, their car crashed into an electricity pole.
He further said, the police arrested one dacoit in injured situation from the car meanwhile the other was dead. The deceased suspect has been identified as Dilawar Cheema who was an absconder, involved in several cases of heinous crime such as robbery, drugs and attempt to murder.
