LAHORE (Dunya News) – Robbers decamped with jewellery, cash and other valuables after breaking into two houses in as many incidents, Dunya News reported here on Wednesday.

Two armed bandits stormed into a house in Wapda Town and took away jewellery, cash and other valuables after taking the inmates hostage. A video has gone viral featuring the robbers plundering valuables from the house.

Satukatla police have registered a case and started a manhunt for the robbers using modern technology and footage of CCTV cameras.

In Gujranwala, four bandits plundered 45-tola jewellery, cash, and other valuables from a house in Qila Didar Singh police jurisdiction. They tortured the family members on resistance. Police have registered a case.

SIX JAIL OFFICIALS SUSPENDED

In Rawalpindi, the Punjab government has suspended six jail officials for their alleged negligence in connection with the escape of a prisoner. Those suspended include Assistant Superintendent Altaf Hussain, Assistant Superintendent Sajad Haider, Head Ward Muhammad Riaz, Ward Imran Khan, Ward Amar Zahoor and Sher Zaman.

A suspect detained in a drug case had escaped from the prison and IG Prisons had ordered an inquiry into the case, and in the light of the inquiry report the six jail officials have been suspended.
