The 3-day Urs celebrations of Hazrat Data Ganj Baksh would start from Sept 5
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab's caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday reviewed the Urs arrangements of great Sufi saint Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA).
The three-day Urs celebrations of Hazrat Data Ganj Baksh will start on Sept 5 in which more than one million devotees are expected to participate.
Mehfil-e-Sama, Sabeel, Natia Mushaira and special lectures will be arranged during the celebrations.
The CM ordered that the Urs arrangements should be made even more splendid than the previous years. He directed the officials to install sound system and SMD screens for the devotees.
He directed to make an extensive sitting arrangements in the Langarkhana, saying the security and traffic plan should be implemented in letter and spirit. He said the law-enforcement agencies should maintain a close coordination with one another.
The Auqaf secretary gave a briefing on arrangements being made in connection with the Urs and the Lahore CCPO briefed the chief minister on the security plan.
It was apprised during the briefing that police personnel would perform their duties in three shifts during Urs celebrations and in-charge of every shift would be of SP rank.
Meanwhile, the government had announced local holiday on Sept 7 - the last day of the Urs.
