ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The National Assembly (NA) session being held today (Friday) has been delayed till 6 pm, the assembly secretariat announced.

According to the National Assembly Secretariat, the session which was scheduled to begin at 11 am under the chairmanship of Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has been delayed.

The secretariat announced that the National Assembly speaker changed the time under Rule 49.

The secretariat has also released an eight-point agenda for the meeting. The agenda, however, does not include the introduction of the 26th constitutional amendment bill.

It may be recalled that the coalition government led by the Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has been trying to ensure the approval of the constitutional amendment since last month.

On September 16, the National Assembly was adjourned indefinitely due to the lack of consensus on the 26th amendment to the Constitution as the government failed to muster the required two-thirds majority.
