PTI not to participate in special committee meeting

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided not to participate in the parliamentary committee meeting constituted to appoint the next chief justice of Pakistan.
According to sources, the decision was taken during PTI’s political committee meeting. It was decided that the party would not participate in the committee meeting scheduled to be held today (Tuesday).
Sources said it was also decided in the meeting that the PTI members who voted for the 26th constitutional amendment would face disciplinary action such as cancellation of their basic party membership.
National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq on Monday constituted a 12-member parliamentary committee to appoint the chief justice and it is set to meet today.
