ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Director General Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir was removed from his position over unsatisfactory performance.

The Establishment Division issued a notification in this regard, stating that Jehangir has been made an OSD.

The decision was taken in line with directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who had expressed resentment for not presenting a detailed report on the Greece boat incident, which had claimed lives of several Pakistani nationals.

The premier was also not satisfied with his performance over delay in investigation into other matters.

On the other hand, Akhtar Hayat Gandapur has been removed as inspector general of police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, after he failed to maintain law and order situation in the province.

He has been replaced by Zulfiqar Hameed, said an official notification.

Several FIA officials are being investigated for their alleged involvement in the boat tragedy. More than 40 Pakistanis lost their lives in the gruesome incident.
