LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz stated that Pakistan has always been a beautiful bouquet of diverse religions, cultures, and traditions.

In her message on the occasion of the World Interfaith Harmony Week, she emphasised that Punjab belongs to everyone, where individuals can practice their faith freely and without fear.

She highlighted that all religions teach love, peace, and tolerance, which form the foundation of a truly welfare-oriented society.

Maryam Nawaz urged people to embrace differences without compromising on religious teachings and cultural values.

She stressed that respect for beliefs and the promotion of harmony are essential for sustainable peace and development. She reaffirmed that every citizen in Pakistan, particularly in Punjab, enjoys equal rights.

She further stated that the Punjab government is taking practical steps to protect minorities and provide equal opportunities in line with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam. Financial assistance is being provided to underprivileged minority communities through the Minority Card, and restoration work is being carried out on temples, churches, and other places of worship.

Additionally, the Chief Minister noted that minority festivals are being celebrated at the government level, with significant increases in the welfare budget for minority communities. Efforts are also underway to expand educational and employment opportunities for minorities. She concluded by encouraging the spread of messages of love, brotherhood, and peace to build a society free from extremism.
