MNAs’ salaries increased to Rs519,000 per month
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – After the salary hike, the monthly salary of a Member of the National Assembly (MNA) has reached Rs519,000.
According to National Assembly sources, this increase was made in line with the pay scale of a federal secretary. Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has signed the order approving the salary increase for MNAs.
Under this new order, after all deductions, the monthly salary and allowances of a federal secretary will also be Rs519,000.
Parliamentary sources revealed that lawmakers initially demanded a further increase, seeking Rs1 million per month, but Speaker Ayaz Sadiq rejected the proposal and finalised the salary at Rs519,000.
With this raise, MNAs will also receive benefits and privileges equivalent to those of federal secretaries, significantly enhancing their financial perks.
It is noteworthy that the National Assembly's Finance Committee unanimously approved this increase, making MNAs and senators' salaries and benefits equal to those of federal secretaries.
