Truck driver killed as convoy carrying aid attacked in Lower Kurram

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – A truck driver was killed after gunmen opened fire on a convoy of aid trucks in Lower Kurram.
According to police, 100 vehicles carrying food, medicine, and other supplies left Hangu for Kurram this morning.
Upon reaching Lower Kurram, the convoy was attacked at seven locations, including Bagan, Ochat, Mandori, Dad Qamar, and Charkhel.
As a result, 15 people, including five truck drivers, were injured.
Later, one of the injured drivers succumbed to his wounds.
Police quoted eyewitnesses as saying that the attackers opened fire on the convoy from a number of places and started robing the vehicles. However, the security forces responded immediately and fired on the robbers through a gunship helicopter.
Sources said due to the tense situation in Lower Kurram, the convoy has been stopped at Tal.
Meanwhile, dismantling of bunkers set up by warring tribes continued under the Kohat Peace Agreement in Kurram district on Monday.
