Barrister Gohar emphasised that the people have risen and their voice cannot be suppressed
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar has stated that the public’s voice cannot be silenced and that the opposition’s conference has been a success.
Speaking to the media before attending the opposition conference in Islamabad, Barrister Gohar emphasised that the people have risen and their voice cannot be suppressed.
He stressed the need for an independent judiciary and the rule of law in the country. He also mentioned that while he had suggested holding the conference at KP House, the opposition’s steering committee decided on the current venue.
Omar Ayub: Government lacks mandate
Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, PTI’s Omar Ayub, addressed the second day of the opposition’s national conference, reiterating the call for constitutional supremacy and the country’s stability. He condemned attempts to hinder the opposition’s conference and stressed that all participants had pledged to protect Pakistan’s integrity.
He criticised the government, stating that it lacked public mandate and that mere advertisements cannot bring progress. According to him, the country is in turmoil, with people in Sindh protesting and opposition rallies being planned in Balochistan.
Omar Ayub also demanded that the federal government release pending payments to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and denounced the imprisonment of political opponents. He asserted that the gathering was focused on upholding constitutional rights and strengthening the state, referencing Article 7, which defined the role of the state.
