Showing concerns over drug abuse, governor urged parents to monitor children
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori announced that families of those who lost their lives in dumper accidents will be allotted plots.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Governor Tessori stated that a daily ballot would be held to allocate plots, with builders handing over property files to the beneficiaries on the same day.
Commenting on Ramazan-related initiatives, he said that the Governor House’s special programmes during the holy month would be branded as Ittihad-e-Ramazan (Ramazan of Unity), aimed at promoting harmony and solidarity among the people.
Expressing concerns over the rising drug abuse among the youth, the governor urged parents to monitor their children closely.
“More than 32 types of drugs are now available in various forms,” he warned, adding that teachers in schools should also undergo medical testing. “I am setting up an anti-narcotics cell at Governor House to counter this menace. No one will be able to exploit or blackmail others anymore, and public awareness will be a key focus.”

Governor Tessori further revealed that he had received death threats via email, including warnings of being assassinated in a manner similar to Dr Imran Farooq. Despite these threats, he stated that he had successfully completed his visit to London.
He also announced plans to write to the provincial home minister regarding private security guards.
“There must be a well-defined policy for private security personnel urging authorities to ensure justice in the Mustafa Aamir case and bring the perpetrators to account", he said.
