PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Thursday expressed displeasure over the matter of offloading Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Faisal Javed Khan from the plane.
Justice Sahibzada Asadullah of the PHC conducted hearing on the contempt plea in which Aalam Khan Adeenzai represented Senator Javed.
Justice Abdullah reprimanded the assistant attorney general for not obeying court orders saying if he couldn’t let people travel despite court’s permission then he should not defend those institutions who commit everything without impunity.
“If those institutions don’t follow your instructions then stop defending them. Why should we listen to the attorney general and the advocate general office if your directions go unheeded,” the justice inquired.
The judge urged the assistant attorney general to be actually empowered so that his high offices could assist the court in upholding rule of law and constitution.
It must be remembered that the PTI senator had moved the PHC for getting barred from going to Saudi Arabia for performing Umrah, despite having his name removed from the Exit Control List (ECL).
