Earlier, opposition leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan had written a letter to NA speaker Ayaz Sadiq, demanding to play his role in arranging a meeting of the party leadership with Imran Khan.

Earlier, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq convened the in-camera meeting on the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

A comprehensive briefing on the country’s security situation will be presented to the members. The military leadership will also brief the committee on the current security situation.

Parliamentary leaders from all political parties along with cabinet members attend the meeting.

Tight security arrangements have been made for the meeting. Law enforcement agencies have been placed on high alert to ensure foolproof security. Strict measures are in place inside and around the Parliament House.
