KARACHI (Dunya News) - The police on Thursday arrested the father of Armaghan, the prime suspect in the Mustafa Amir murder case and also recovered drugs from his possession.

According to sources, Kamran Qureshi was arrested by the Anti-Violence Crime Cell and Crime Investigation Agency in Karachi.

The authorities also recovered drugs and illegal firearms from the suspect’s possession.

A case has been registered against the accused under the sections related to possession of narcotics and illegal weapons.

The police said that Kamran Qureshi was arrested from Defence phase V, Khayaban-e-Momin during a crackdown against the drug traffickers.

According to police, 200 grams of ice, a 9mm pistol and ammunition were recovered from the suspect.

Mustafa Amir was brutally killed allegedly by his friend Armaghan in Karachi.

The police said that the murder was an outcome of a dispute between two friends.

Sheraz, one of the suspects police earlier apprehended, claimed that Armaghan killed the young man to settle personal score. There were also reports that a girl was involved in the gruesome murder of 24-year-old Mustafa.

Armaghan called Mustafa to his home on some pretext on Jan 6 and thrashed him with an iron rod for three hours. He later put him in his car trunk and drove towards Hub, Balochistan, police quoted Sheraz as having said.
