Journalist Farhan Mallick remanded to FIA custody for four days

KARACHI (Dunya News) - A local court in Karachi on Friday handed journalist Farhan Mallick into the custody of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for four days.
The court granted his four-day physical remand to FIA on Friday.
Mallick was presented before Judicial Magistrate-I (East) Yusra Ashfaq.
His lawyer told the court that he was arrested in violation of the Sindh High Court order.
The Sindh High Court had earlier directed the officials not to arrest the journalist.

Farhan Mallick was the former Director News of a private news channel.
Now, he runs his own digital media outlet.
According to the FIR, the FIA had received a report about his YouTube channel, which was “involved in running a campaign for the posting of anti-state videos targeting the dignitaries mentioned in violation”.
He was arrested by the FIA’s cybercrime wing on Thursday as investigation was pending against him for last three months.
