Aleema Khan says Imran Khan in solitary confinement, fate unknown
Pakistan
Aleema Khan said Imran Khan is in solitary confinement, with his condition unknown, accused the government of defying court orders, and claimed cases are being delayed to block bail.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has said that her brother is being kept in solitary confinement and that the family does not know what condition he is in.
Speaking to the media outside an anti-terrorism court, Aleema Khan said that warrants were issued against her the day before yesterday, while today the judge went on leave. “We had requested time until Monday, but our plea was not heard,” she added.
Responding to a question about a circulating picture, she said the image was genuine but old.
Aleema Khan stated that Imran Khan is in solitary confinement and that the family has no information about his well-being. She accused the government of refusing to comply with court orders and said they had no effective forum left to present their case.
She further claimed that the cases of Bushra Bibi and Imran Khan were deliberately not being scheduled so that they could not be granted bail.
Commenting on the situation in different provinces, Aleema Khan said it was a positive sign that the Sindh government was not blocking roads, whereas roads were being blocked in Punjab due to the absence of a government with a public mandate. She described the Sindh government as “more sensible.”
