BARA (Dunya News) - In a landmark initiative, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has completed the reconstruction and rehabilitation of 50 schools destroyed by terrorism in Bara and adjoining areas of Khyber district.

Chief Minister Suhail Afridi inaugurated the project, which was carried out with financial and technical assistance from China. According to officials, the scheme was completed successfully at a cost of Rs3.21 billion.

A total of 35 primary schools, seven middle schools, seven high schools and one senior high school have been rebuilt and are now fully functional. Thousands of students will benefit from modern educational facilities under the restored infrastructure.

Following completion, all institutions have been handed over to the Education Department.

The rebuilt schools are equipped with solar energy systems, clean drinking water, cooling arrangements and essential sanitation facilities.

The restoration of these institutions has revived academic activities in Bara and other affected areas.

Speaking at the ceremony, the chief minister said the initiative represents not just reconstruction of buildings but an investment in future generations.
