NEW YORK (Dunya News) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said Pakistan will support President Trump's Gaza peace plan, adding Israel is taking illegal action in the West Bank.

Addressing the United Nations Security Council, Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan Ishaq Dar said that diplomacy based on mutual trust is essential for lasting peace, and that the reconstruction of Gaza and humanitarian assistance are the urgent needs of the hour.

The foreign minister said Pakistan will support President Trump's peace plan for Gaza.

He said that efforts are underway to maintain the ceasefire, Pakistan will support President Trump's peace plan, the central role of the Palestinian Authority is indispensable in all situations, and diplomatic efforts are underway to continue the ceasefire.

Ishaq Dar further said that Israel is continuously violating the ceasefire, the foreign ministers of 8 Arab Islamic countries condemned Israel, and Israeli aggression is a violation of international law.

Meanwhile, the Gaza Peace Board meeting will be held in the United States on Thursday (today), in which Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also participate.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reached the United States where he is expected to meet with the US leadership and world leaders during the Gaza Peace Board meeting.

A White House spokesperson said that President Trump will host the Peace Board meeting on Thursday.

The White House spokesperson further said that pledges of more than $5 billion in aid are expected to be announced by the board's member countries at the meeting.

More than 20 countries will participate in the important meeting of the Board of Peace.
