The Sindh government has announced a two-day public holiday for Hindu employees on March 3 and 4 to celebrate the festival of Holi.
KARACHI (Web Desk) – The Government of Sindh has announced a two-day holiday for Hindu employees across the province on the occasion of Holi.
According to an official notification issued by the provincial authorities, Hindu employees working in government departments will observe holidays on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 3 and 4, in celebration of the religious festival.
The notification states that the holidays will apply throughout Sindh and are specifically designated for employees belonging to the Hindu community to enable them to participate in Holi festivities.
Holi, known as the festival of colors, is widely celebrated by the Hindu community in Pakistan and around the world. The festival marks the arrival of spring and symbolizes joy, renewal, and the triumph of good over evil.
Provincial officials said the decision reflects the government’s commitment to religious harmony and respect for minority communities in Sindh, where a significant number of Hindu citizens reside.
Sindh has traditionally announced special holidays for minority communities on their religious festivals, allowing them to observe important cultural and spiritual events without affecting their employment status.
The two-day holiday will be observed from March 3 to March 4, as per the official notification.
