Summary Federal ministers Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and Talal Chaudhry condemned Noreen Niazi's remarks, calling them anti-Pakistan and confirming that legal proceedings have been initiated.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal ministers Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and Talal Chaudhry on Saturday condemned remarks made by Noreen Niazi, describing them as regrettable and announcing that legal action has been initiated over the statement.
Speaking to the media, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos was a historic success and alleged that the PTI founder and his family never miss an opportunity to make statements against Pakistan. He described Noreen Niazi's remarks as condemnable, saying they were against the country's integrity, dignity and prestige.
The federal minister added that the president of the United States had repeatedly referred to Pakistan's victory, and expressed regret over Noreen Niazi's statement.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry also termed the remarks highly regrettable, alleging that the PTI founder and his family were seeking to harm Pakistan's interests.
He said Pakistan had emerged victorious despite what he described as an India-Israel nexus, adding that Noreen Niazi's statement reflected what he called anti-Pakistan proxies.
Talal Chaudhry further alleged that PTI had attempted to push Pakistan towards default and had targeted the country's economy, claiming letters had been sent to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in an effort to undermine Pakistan's financial stability.
He said action would be taken against those attempting to destabilise the country and confirmed that legal proceedings had been initiated over Noreen Niazi's statement.
