Summary Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide arrived in Islamabad for talks on bilateral ties and expanded cooperation.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide arrived in Islamabad on Thursday for an official two-day visit, the first by a Norwegian foreign minister to Pakistan in a decade.
Additional Foreign Secretary for Europe Ambassador Ayesha Ali received the Norwegian foreign minister at Islamabad International Airport.

Eide is visiting Pakistan from August 13 to 14 at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
During the visit, the two sides will hold delegation-level talks covering a broad range of bilateral issues and relations between Pakistan and Norway.
The discussions will focus on ways to expand cooperation in trade and investment, climate change, renewable energy, education and people-to-people contacts.
The two sides will also exchange views on key regional and international developments.
According to the Foreign Office, the visit follows recent high-level engagement between Pakistan and Norway, including telephone conversations between Dar and Eide in March and April, as well as the visit of Norwegian State Secretary Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik to Islamabad in May.
The Foreign Office said Eide's visit would help further strengthen the longstanding and friendly ties between Pakistan and Norway while providing an opportunity to identify new areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.
