Summary Balochistan women lawmakers condemn alleged BLA attacks on civilians, women and children, urging stronger action and an end to terrorism.
QUETTA (Dunya News) – Women politicians in Balochistan have condemned attacks allegedly carried out by the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) against civilians, women and children, calling for an end to terrorism in the province.
Addressing a press conference alongside Balochistan Assembly Deputy Speaker Ghazala Gola and Provincial Education Minister Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, Chief Minister’s Adviser Meena Majeed Baloch said BLA militants allegedly entered a house and shot dead 50-year-old Bibi Hanifa and her 17-year-old daughter.
Meena said militants affiliated with what she described as “Fitna al-Hindustan” were targeting civilians, women and children. She said the government would work to eliminate terrorism from Balochistan and promote peace, development, prosperity and education in the province.
She added that peaceful and patriotic Baloch people had no connection with terrorists.
Meena said action was under way against those responsible for the killing of Asma Jattak’s father, adding that the presence of “Fitna al-Hindustan” in Balochistan was an established fact.
She called for people to stand against those attacking women, saying militants sought to spread fear by violating the sanctity of homes.
Provincial Education Minister Raheela Hameed said terrorists could not achieve their objectives by targeting women. She strongly condemned attacks on Baloch women and questioned what militants hoped to achieve by killing women in the province.
Balochistan Assembly Deputy Speaker Ghazala Gola said those responsible for killing women would be brought to justice. She said the issue was particularly significant for parliamentarians, stressing that women held a highly respected position in both Baloch and Pashtun traditions.
Hadia Nawaz said the killing of women inside their homes had raised serious concerns about the safety of everyone. She questioned why criticism was directed at the state while little attention was paid to terrorist attacks.
She said the state had provided employment opportunities for women and education for girls, while terrorists had targeted the same communities. She urged people to speak out against terrorism and stand united.
Chief Minister’s Adviser Shahid Rind said neither children nor women were safe from militants, alleging that terrorists were also using women and children to advance their objectives.
