Summary Gohar said there was no ambiguity in the Supreme Court’s directive regarding Imran’s medical examination at Shifa International Hospital

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar slammed the government for transferring party founder Imran Khan to PIMS instead of Shifa International Hospital, saying the move amounted to a violation of the Supreme Court’s order.

Speaking to the media, Gohar said there was no ambiguity in the Supreme Court’s directive regarding Imran’s medical examination at Shifa International Hospital.

He termed the failure to implement the court’s order unfortunate and questioned how democracy could function if complying with judicial orders became difficult.

“We will continue trying to resolve political issues through political means,” Gohar said, adding that meaningful negotiations could not take place under such circumstances.

The PTI chairman said the government’s decision to take Imran to another hospital, without providing sufficient details, was unexpected. He maintained that the Supreme Court’s order had not been followed and reiterated his party’s desire to resolve political disputes through dialogue.

The remarks came after the Supreme Court had ordered three days earlier that Imran Khan be shifted to Shifa International Hospital for a medical check-up and comprehensive examination.

However, the government subsequently transferred him to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), where doctors examined him before he was taken back to Adiala Jail late at night.

Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar later said on social media that Imran Khan was in good health.
