KARACHI (Dunya News) - An event organiser allegedly fled with mobile phones of more than 50 women attending an event at a farmhouse in Gadap area here on Wednesday, prompting police action and orders for an immediate arrest.
According to police, the women had arrived at the farmhouse in two buses after being invited to what they were told was a job-related or corporate event. The organiser allegedly informed them that making videos with mobile phones was not allowed at the venue and collected their phones.
Police said the organiser subsequently left the farmhouse with the collected mobile phones. The farmhouse manager was taken into custody for questioning, and his statement was recorded.
According to the farmhouse management, they had been informed that a corporate event was being held at the venue and said they had not been paid for it.
Management further claimed that a man identified as Salman left the premises with the mobile phones.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has reportedly taken notice of the incident and directed authorities to ensure the immediate arrest of those responsible.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and efforts are underway to recover the stolen phones.
