LHC bans videos, photos and TikTok in court premises

Summary Lahore High Court bans photography, video recording and TikTok content across court premises, with an exemption for designated media areas.

LAHORE (Muhammad Ashfaq) - The Lahore High Court has banned making videos, taking photographs and creating TikTok content within the court premises.

A circular issued by Lahore High Court Registrar Abdul Rahim directed all relevant officers and staff, lawyers, police personnel, journalists, litigants and other visitors to comply with the ban.

Under the circular, video recording, photography and TikTok content will not be allowed in courtrooms, corridors, waiting areas, offices or other parts of the court. The designated area for journalists has been exempted from the restriction.

The Lahore High Court warned that violators would face strict action in accordance with the law. Where legally authorised, mobile phones or other recording devices used in violations may also be confiscated.

The registrar also directed administrative officers, registrars, the public relations officer, research and reference officer, Lahore High Court Bar Associations and security authorities to ensure strict implementation of the circular.
