PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Security forces have killed nine terrorists, including four senior commanders, during intelligence-based operations in North Waziristan under the Azm-e-Istehkam campaign.

The operations were carried out in the areas of Palangzai, Nadeem Kot and Kot Khazri, where security personnel targeted positions associated with Fitna al-Khawarij.

According to the sources, four commanders identified as Khalid Raza, Kamran, Musa and Maftoon were among those killed during the operations. A significant quantity of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the militants, while several of their hideouts were destroyed.

The operations were conducted following intelligence inputs and resulted in the elimination of what the sources described as key militant figures operating in the area.

President Asif Ali Zardari praised the security forces for what he described as a successful operation against the militants in North Waziristan.

In his statement, the president commended the forces for eliminating nine militants, including four important commanders, saying the operation demonstrated their professional capabilities and courage.

Zardari said efforts would continue to counter militant networks, including what he described as their foreign backers and local facilitators. He also reiterated that operations under the Azm-e-Istehkam framework would continue until terrorism is completely eliminated.
