(Web Desk) – The British ruled for almost 200 years in the subcontinent. With rule, they brought with them a cultural superior angle meant to impose their own values on the Indian people.

This shows why there is so much Western or British cultural superiority in India.

Known for its massive military, the Brits quickly gained control over India. But there was one Indian state which did not fall under the infamous and oppressive colonization.

But how did that state remained free from the British colonization. First of all, the state is Goa which is known for its enriching tourist spots with proximity to sea.

It was due to the Portugese presence. Portugal reached this place before Britain in 1498. Both powers fought many wars but the control of Portugal was unassailable.

Even after India independence, Portugal continued to rule Goa till 1961.
