Meanwhile, Iran has sent a new set of proposals to the United States through Pakistan, its ambassador in Islamabad said on Sunday, adding that any progress in negotiations would depend on a change in Washington’s approach.

“Iran has conveyed a new negotiation plan to the United States via Pakistan, and progress depends on the US behaviour,” Iran’s envoy, Reza Amiri Moghadam, told an Iranian news agency.

He said Tehran’s position remained “clear and transparent” and that it would not compromise on national interests or defence. “If the United States is serious about reaching an understanding, it must change its approach,” he added.

The ambassador described Pakistan as a “central mediator” in the process and said its role remained unchanged.
