(Web Desk) - A social media post apparently sent by US President Donald Trump's son Barron to defend Elon Musk is fake, and was sent by an account with no affiliation to him.

The world’s richest man, Musk is heading a task force known as the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) whose aim is to cut government spending.

A screenshot shared online, shows a post from an account named "Barron Trump", which says: "The richest man in the world is working for free in order to stop your government from robbing you blind. Instead of complaining, why don't you sit down, shut up and say thank you."

The screenshot was posted with captions such as "Don't tell us what to do, Barron!"

However, the February 6 post seen in the screenshot was shared by an X account named Barron Trump News which has the handle “@TrumpBarronNews.” Its bio states that it is not affiliated with him.

No official X account for Barron Trump appears on the social media platform.
