LAHORE (Muhammad Ashfaq) – A Lahore's sessions court has handed down a death sentence and 21 years of imprisonment to Ali Raza, convicted of raping and murdering a seven-year-old-girl before disposing of her body in a swimming pool.
The tragic incident took place in August 2022 in Sharifpura, Manawan, Lahore, when the young girl went swimming with her sibling.
She suddenly disappeared, and the pool owner falsely claimed she had gone home.
Her worried parents launched a desperate search and later found her body at the pool.
An FIR was lodged after public protests and police investigations confirmed the abuse and murder.
Using modern forensic techniques, authorities arrested Ali Raza and presented strong evidence in the court.
Judge Malik Tanveer Ahmad Awan convicted the accused and sentenced him to death, alongwith 21 years in prison.
