ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Punjab government has sought more time to present arguments in appeal for the cancellation of bail granted to accused in the May 9 attack on military installations in Rawalpindi.

A three-member branch, headed by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, heard the appeals applied filed by the Punjab government.

During the hearing, the additional prosecutor general requested time to submit JIT reports, stating that arguments would be presented based on their findings.

The CJP noted that some appeals were related to case transfers, which had now become ineffective.

The court was informed that the judge of the Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi had been transferred and that fine of Rs200,000 had been imposed on 11 transferred applications.

Granting time to the Punjab government for report submission, the Supreme Court scheduled further hearing on the matter.
