Summary DG ISPR announces a special parade for August 14 while highlighting Pakistan’s military preparedness, indigenous defence capabilities and strategic lessons from Marka-e-Haq.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan’s Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has announced a special military parade for August 14, promising “numerous surprises” as the country prepares to celebrate its Independence Day.

Speaking during a detailed press conference in Islamabad on Thursday, the military spokesperson said the parade would reflect national unity, discipline and the preparedness of Pakistan’s armed forces. The event is expected to feature demonstrations of indigenous military capabilities and coordinated participation from the armed forces.

The announcement came as Pakistan marked one year since the military confrontation with India that Islamabad refers to as Marka-e-Haq. Senior officials from the Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Air Force also attended the briefing, where the military leadership presented what it described as the strategic consequences of the conflict and the country’s evolving defence posture.

Lt Gen Chaudhry said Pakistan had demonstrated its ability to conduct “multi-domain operations” and had successfully defended itself against a much larger adversary. He maintained that Pakistan remained fully prepared for future threats and highlighted the armed forces’ growing reliance on locally developed military technology.

During the briefing, videos were shown featuring a range of indigenous capabilities, including surface-to-air missiles, cruise missiles, drones, anti-drone systems, long-range artillery, electro-optical satellites and integrated artillery fire control systems. The DG ISPR said the showcased systems reflected Pakistan’s “homegrown” military strength.

“We are prepared; if anyone wishes to test us, they are more than welcome,” he said, while stressing that Pakistan sought peace but would defend its sovereignty “with honour and dignity”.

The military spokesperson also outlined what he called 10 strategic consequences of Marka-i-Haq, including the strengthening of deterrence between two nuclear neighbours, Pakistan’s emergence as a “responsible middle power”, and the growing integration between the public, government and armed forces.

'8-0': PAF says four Rafales among eight Indian jets destroyed during Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos

Air Vice Marshal Tariq Ghazi claimed the Pakistan Air Force had achieved “eight confirmed kills” during the conflict, including Rafale, Su-30 and MiG-29 aircraft, while also targeting Indian military infrastructure and S-400 systems. He said the PAF was now pursuing more than 160 capability enhancement projects to prepare for future warfare.

Rear Admiral Shifaat Ali said Pakistan Navy operations ensured uninterrupted maritime trade routes and protected ports during the confrontation. He added that naval and air forces remained prepared for any escalation in the Arabian Sea.

Lt Gen Chaudhry also addressed regional security concerns, maintaining that terrorism in Pakistan continued to receive backing from across the border, while reiterating that Islamabad remained committed to counterterrorism operations and regional stability.
