Summary Defence Minister Khawaja Asif criticises awards presented to Narendra Modi, calling them fabricated publicity and an embarrassment for India.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has strongly criticised one of the honours presented to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, describing it as "the most embarrassing story" to emerge so far.
In a post on social media platform X, Asif claimed that the awards were created only days before Modi's visits and alleged that the accompanying certificates had been generated using a "cheap artificial intelligence (AI) model."
He further alleged that the certificates contained obvious spelling mistakes and noted that Modi became the first and only recipient of the honour.

According to the defence minister, the planned recognition was either "the worst attempt at gaining cheap publicity" or "an extreme form of sycophancy."
Asif also said that Modi was bringing embarrassment to the Indian nation and had become a source of national disgrace.
