LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said the time had come for the world to recognize Pakistan’s claim to pink salt as a valuable national resource.
Addressing a cheque distribution ceremony under the Value Addition Financing for Pink Rock Salt programme, she said interest-free loans of up to Rs50 million were being provided for pink salt value addition.
Maryam said value addition would help increase foreign exchange reserves and create employment opportunities. She said an 110-acre estate was being developed in Quaidabad for pink salt processing and value addition, adding that the product would now be marketed globally under the “Made in Pakistan” label.
