QUETTA (Dunya News) – Kharan Deputy Commissioner Munir Ahmed Soomro has been recovered, police and family sources confirmed on Friday.

According to police sources, Soomro was abducted on Sept. 20 while travelling from Quetta to Kharan in a private vehicle.

The deputy commissioner was reportedly travelling with three other people when they were abducted. Those taken included his driver and personal security guard.

Police sources said the driver and security guard were released three days after the abduction, while Soomro remained in the kidnappers’ custody until his recovery.

Family sources also confirmed that the deputy commissioner had been safely recovered.

Police have confirmed the recovery, but the circumstances surrounding his release and the identities of those involved in the abduction were not immediately available.
