RIYADH (Dunya News) - The Saudi-led military coalition has claimed that its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed three ballistic missiles launched by Yemen’s Houthis toward Saudi Arabia.
The spokesperson of allied forces Major General Turki Al-Maliki said in a statement that one ballistic missile fired by the Houthis toward Khamis Mushait was successfully intercepted by Saudi air defence systems.
According to Al-Maliki, the Houthi militia also launched two ballistic missiles toward Riyadh.
He said both missiles were detected and destroyed by Saudi Arabia’s defensive systems before they could reach their intended targets.

The spokesperson said the missiles were intercepted in a timely manner, preventing the threat from reaching populated areas and averting potential damage.
The latest reported launches come amid continued tensions involving the Houthis and regional states.
The Iran-aligned group has previously launched missiles and drones toward Saudi territory, while Riyadh has maintained air defence operations to counter such threats.
Al-Maliki said Saudi Arabia’s defence systems remained capable of detecting and neutralizing incoming threats before they could cause harm.
