Summary The KSE-100 index dropped 2,006 points to close at 163,924 on Thursday, reversing the previous session’s gains amid heavy selling at the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
KARACHI (Web Desk) – The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a sharp downturn on Thursday as selling pressure pushed the benchmark KSE-100 index below the 164,000-point mark.
The market initially showed positive momentum at the opening of trading, with the benchmark index gaining 250 points to reach 166,180 points.
However, the upward trend soon reversed as selling intensified across the market. The decline continued until the close of trading, leaving the index down 2,006 points at 163,924.
The latest fall erased the previous session’s gains, when the benchmark index had risen by 779 points to close at 165,930.
The sharp decline marked a reversal in investor sentiment, with the benchmark index losing ground after Wednesday’s positive close.
