Summary Lanjar said no evidence had so far emerged indicating the involvement of any high-profile personality in the case, but stressed that a judicial inquiry was necessary to establish the facts.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Newly-formed investigation team has called its first meeting on Monday (today) to reinvestigate the murder of Karachi young businessman Mir Raza.
The investigation committee will review the case and visit the scene of the incident, re-examine the evidence, and re-interrogate the relatives and other relevant persons. A change was made to the new five-member investigation committee, a notification of which was issued.
SSP Ali Raza has been included in the committee in place of SSP CTD Irfan Bahadur. The FIR of kidnapping registered in Karachi's Firozabad police station has also been converted into a murder case.
According to the police, Section 302 of the IPC was added to the FIR. The section of murder was added to the case after the exhumation of the grave and the post-mortem report. SDPO Shara Faisal and SHO Gulistan-e-Jauhar were suspended for negligence.

He said the police investigation team had already been reconstituted under the leadership of DIG Amir Farooqi. The family, he added, had been assured that any police officer nominated by them would be included in the team.
The case took a new turn after Mir Raza’s body was exhumed and a second postmortem was conducted. Following the findings, Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code, pertaining to murder, was added to the kidnapping FIR.
The newly formed five-member investigation team, headed by DIG Amir Farooqi, is scheduled to hold its first meeting on Monday.
