Two hired assassins eliminated in CCD Attock 'encounter'

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - Two alleged hired killers were killed in an encounter with the Crime Control Department (CCD) in the Faqirabad area of Attock, police officials said.

According to officials, the suspects were allegedly operating a network of hired killers across Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A CCD Attock team reached the area after receiving information about their presence.

Police said the suspects opened indiscriminate fire on the CCD team, triggering an exchange of fire. Both suspects were killed at the scene, while their accomplices managed to flee.

CCD sources identified the deceased suspects as Tahir Zaman and Ijaz Afridi. Officials claimed that the two were struck by bullets fired by their own accomplices during the exchange.

According to CCD officials, the gang's alleged leader, Shah Saud alias Yarji, was also killed in an encounter with CCD Attock a few days earlier.

Officials further alleged that the gang had killed Atif Niaz and Abdul Shakoor after receiving a payment of Rs20 million.

The CCD has launched a search operation in the area to apprehend the fleeing suspects. The bodies of the deceased were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Attock, for medico-legal formalities.
