QUETTA (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged the resurgence of terrorism in the country, stating that the nation's brave sons are paying the ultimate price to rectify the mistakes of the past. 

He expressed hope that Pakistan would soon emerge as a cradle of peace. 

Chairing a high-level security meeting in Quetta to review province's law and order situation, the prime minister voiced deep concern over the recent wave of terrorist incidents, particularly the tragic attack in Kalat. 

PM Shehbaz in the meeting said, "Terrorism has raised its head once again in Pakistan. The Kalat incident is deeply tragic. The entire nation salutes its martyrs and war heroes, standing in unwavering solidarity with the families of those who laid down their lives." 

Sharing details of the recent counterterrorism operation in Kalat, the prime minister revealed that 23 militants were neutralised, while 18 security personnel embraced martyrdom.

"Our soldiers are sacrificing their blood for the nation. I visited the injured in hospital and found their resolve unshaken. They told me that even if they had to lay down their lives, they would do so without hesitation," he added. 

Highlighting the role of security forces under the leadership of the military high command, PM Shehbaz stressed, "Our security institutions are fulfilling their duties with utmost dedication. I am confident that the entire country will soon become a beacon of peace. The nation faces a formidable challenge today, and we must confront it with unity and resolve." 

The premier further stated, "Our sons are shedding their blood to fix the mistakes of the past. I do not wish to dwell on history. This is not the time for division or political point-scoring."
