ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Wednesday Saudi Arabia was a brotherly state, and its sovereignty and integrity would never be undermined.
Speaking at the federal cabinet meeting, the prime minister said he presented his position regarding Palestine to the world in a strong manner at the Dubai Summit.
PM Shehbaz said that during his visit to Dubai, bilateral relations and investment were discussed with the UAE president. Army Chief Gen Syed Asim Munir was also present in the meeting with President Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan.
He said he represented Pakistan at the World Governments Summit in Dubai, and held important bilateral meetings. He said he met the top leadership of Sri Lanka, Kuwait and Bosnia besides the Ruler of Dubai.
He said detailed discussions were held with the IMF team in Dubai and the fund MD praised the Pakistani team for moving matters forward in a good manner.
Sharif said he also met Pakistani investors in Dubai. "We are on the path of sustainable development and prosperity with macroeconomic stability, and more work needs to be done to improve the growth rate," he added.
He said there had been a record increase in remittances from overseas Pakistanis as $3 billion in remittances came last month. "The increase in remittances is a reflection of the trust of overseas Pakistanis," he said.
The premier bemaoned the fact that around 50,000 Palestinians had been martyred. What could be the worst example of barbarity and genocide in Palestine? The barbarity and genocide in Palestine should stop, he said.
He said the president of Turkiye was paying a two-day visit to Pakistan. "His visit is of utmost importance. Recep Tayyip Erdogan is the best leader in the Islamic world. During the visit of the president of Turkey to Pakistan, agreements related to the promotion of bilateral relations and trade will be signed."
Premier Sharif further said he was very sorry about the Libyan boat accident. Some Pakistanis had lost their lives in the accident. Steps are being taken to prevent human trafficking. The black market must be ended forever.
